Graeme has had a varied and interesting career and following 3 years operating as an independent contracted executive and business advisor to SME businesses on his own account joined with the Prime Strategies Group. Graeme is a Chartered Accountant but is not an “accountant”, his working life has encompassed activities as diverse as being a hard rock miner underground in Australia to being a chartered accountant in practice here in New Zealand and for 30 or so years now being an executive and CEO of SME companies both in New Zealand and overseas.

This career path has provided Graeme with a wealth of knowledge of business in many areas including;

  • Exporting and Importing
  • Sales and Marketing
  • Contract negotiations

The experience gained from a diverse career to date including serving on the boards of a number of SME companies and NGOs has provided Graeme with the background to understand the challenges and opportunities that face SME businesses looking to improve and grow.

Graeme and his wife Roni have been based from their home in Port Chalmers Dunedin for over 30 years whilst Graeme’s career has involved working at offices based in various locations. They “ran away from home” together for 15 months 10 or so years ago while continuing to work remotely and more recently had 3.5 years in Quebec Canada where Graeme was contracted as a CEO. Graeme and Roni are keen followers of a number of top class sports here in New Zealand, appreciating the time and effort that it takes to be at the top of their game. For his part Graeme has in the last 20 years participated in many multisport events, including 4 Coast to Coasts and some kayaking with a more particular focus recently on WakaAma paddling and mountain biking.

Graeme understands that the process of running a business enterprise is different from doing the work of the business and that YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT YOU DON’T KNOW which is something that applies to all of us, but also that we are always able to learn. He is focused on assisting clients with the learning processes to help them improve their businesses and achieve their aims commercially, professionally and personally and in turn expects to learn from the client during the course of an engagement.
