Alistair has been involved in providing business advisory services across three continents and a range of industries, for more than two decades.

Alistair started his career in the South African Department of Trade and Industry, an organisation very similar to New Zealand Trade and Enterprise, where he advised local and international businesses. He also spent three years in a diplomatic assignment as the Trade Commissioner in the South African Consulate General in Mumbai, India. After returning to South Africa, he started a business advisory practice, which he operated for several years.

Since relocating to New Zealand with his family in 2018, Alistair has worked for the Economic Development team at Marlborough District Council, and for Infometrics, one of New Zealand’s leading economic consultancies. He has also consulted in various regional economic development roles. Prior to joining Prime Strategies, he spent three years as the Business Development Advisor at the Marlborough Chamber of Commerce.

Alistair is a Member of the Institute of Directors New Zealand, and sits on the Boards of a number of not-for-profit organisations.

He firmly believes that every business, irrespective of its size, age, or the industry in which it operates, stands to benefit from solid, professional external advice. He also believes that the systems, knowledge and expertise available in the Prime Strategies Group will place any business owner in the best possible to position to succeed and thrive.

Alistair lives in Blenheim with his wife and teenage son. He considers himself extremely fortunate to live in Marlborough, a location which allows him to pursue his passions for road and mountain biking, and scuba and freediving in the incredible Marlborough Sounds.
